Free Inquiry Forum - A weekly forum for those who enjoy a casual social gathering involving eating, drinking, and engaging discourse. Discuss, debate or just listen as we take a critical look at current events and subjects involving: Religion, Philosophy, History, Politics, Science and more.
"Those who are led by reason are truly free."
AGENDA & TOPICS
  • OPEN DISCUSSION - For the first 30 minutes of the Thursday night forums we will have informal open discussion. This will allow for late arrivals, food & drink ordering, and new attendees to become acclimated.
  • ANNOUNCEMENTS - Any events, news, or other items that you feel are of interest to the group can be announced at the start of Free Inquiry Forum.

TOPICS for Thursday (10/28/04) & Monday (11/1/04):

  1. Special Election 2004 Forum - Please bring your sample ballot so we can review the canidates and proposed constitutional amendments. If you need a sample ballot, you can print one from here.
  2. Memories of Florida's contested 2000 presidential election and a growing number of pre-election lawsuits are making Americans skeptical about a voting process they once took for granted. Six in 10 of those surveyed in an Associated Press poll say it's likely there will not be a clear winner in the presidential race by Nov. 3. About half say they fear the results will be challenged in court. Do you think there will be a clear winner on Nov. 3rd?
  3. Open Discussion.

Quote of the week: "'Mr. President, you'd better prepare the American people for casualties.' 'Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties.'" [Pat Robertson, Televangelist, recounting a conversation he says he had with President George W. Bush before the invasion of Iraq]
